Just decided.

After reading other blog posts of people that RV, thought I would add my experiences.

My family and I purchased our RV 2 months ago and have already made 3 small trips and this Saturday we set out on a journey.

Trip 1:
Mariana Caverns State Park Mariana, Florida

The Mariana Caverns are just 75 miles from our home and we thought it would be a great first trip. My daughters Girl Scout troupe was supposed to go but cancelled. We figured what the hay, we would still go.
I have to say it is a very interesting place, and we will go again. It was a clean facility, and it was a nice little weekend trip.

Trip 2:
Jellystone Park Madison, Florida

This park is also about 70 miles from home and we had heard so many great things that we decided to go. When we got there the staff was friendly and we got setup easily.
The problem was that we came the weekend after Memorial Day and the park had not recuperated. The pool didn't work, the paddle boats were broken. I spoke with the maintenance man and fixed paddle boats so that we could use them. I also helped him get the pool fixed. Not once did he asked hey, would you like a discount on your next visit.

The amenities are pretty good in this park and we will go again, but we will plan more carefully when we go.

Trip 3:
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort Walt Disney World, Florida

This trip was fantastic. We arrived at 8 AM but checkout wasn't until 1. They gave us a spot right away and we went to setup. The roads were paved throughout and the spot was paved as well. We setup and still had plenty of time to ride around the park on our rented golf cart until my daughter had to be at her first workshop. Oh yeah, that is why we came to Orlando. My 12 year old had a dance workshop for the weekend.

The park is fantastic and there are plenty of free things you can do to keep you busy for the entire weekend.

1. Swimming
2. Fishing
3. Downtown Disney
4. Boat Shuttles to other resorts
5. Ride the monorail

Little known fact that when you stay at a Disney resort you can resort hop. You can go from one resort to the other and go swimming in the different pools and appreciating the different scenery.

We will definitely do this trip again.

Up coming trip

Grand Canyon, Phoenix and parts in between

Saturday we leave for Arizona. All six of us in a 29ft with no slide outs. I will be updating this frequently. I will add pics from the other trips as well.

Check back often as I will update this regularly.
